Drainage
In many ways, proper drainage is just as important as proper irrigation. There has to be a balance between these two elements. Are we going to need to build french drains or other types of trenches to help your landscaping? There are a lot of things that we have to take into account before we make any decisions. Here are a couple of scenarios that we are most likely going to be working on. Ideally, of course, we want to ensure that when we set up any new landscaping layout we account for all of the proper drainage needs. We can also improve drainage in existing fixtures!
What Type of Drains Will You Be Able To Build?
There are many different types of drains that could be in the picture if you will. Many times this is a process that is actually not as complicated as it would seem. We can dig a trench just deep enough to ensure that we are able to set a pipe there. What we need to make sure that we do is send that pipe to a spot where water can be disposed of safely. A lot of times we end up connecting these drains to the sewer or finding other types of solutions.
Dealing With Existing Drainage Issues
When you are having constant puddling in a particular area in your lawn it could be a good idea to build a drain there to make sure that you won’t have to deal with the effects of moisture buildup. Especially if the problem is happening close to a house or to another type of structure. The thing about these problems is that we are going to have a relatively easy time drawing up the path that we want the drain to follow. It literally has to run from the flooded area all the way to a spot where we can dispose of the water safely.
Restoring Older Drain Systems
Some older drains can start having some trouble fulfilling their duties. They clog up much easier and things of that nature. There are a couple of reasons why this tends to happen. You could have a lot of leaks, cracks all of those things in the pipeline. At times the area around the pipeline is kind of caving in so we may need to redo the trench. There are certain different factors that can come into play. We can make the necessary adjustments when we spot issues.
When Is The Best Time To Work On Drains?
If we have to dig up trenches it actually could be a good idea to get this type of job done in the winter or the fall. If you want us to work in the summer and spring that’s fine though. The reason why we would recommend the winter or the fall is because we will typically be dealing with grass that is a little worn down. Tearing up a great looking lawn to build a drain is a little sad. If it needs to be done, it needs to be done though!
